West Virginia, My Home

Annick Odom’s solo project West Virginia, My Home for bass and voice grew from her interest in blending storytelling, Appalachian-inspired composition, and traditional ballads. It has since evolved into a vibrant commissioning platform, featuring new works by composers such as Annika Socolofsky, Jacob Sandridge, Nathan Thatcher, Matthew Browne, Ben Morris, Nadine Dyskant-Miller, Jane Marie Rogers, Christine Delphine Hedden, and Clay Gonzalez. Here you can view a list of commissions, premieres, and recordings. The project continues to expand with new compositions, recordings, and accompanying crankies—handcrafted moving panoramas created by Annick and collaborators.
